I have to say I’m just in love with the penguins that my fabulous artist, Kyle, created last year. It’s so much fun using them in our winter themed activities. For my pre-k and kindergarten friends I created these ice fishing scenes that are perfect for centers during the chilly winter months. Of course you could use any manipulative, but why not try using Goldfish crackers for an added twist. There are two different types of templates which allows you to differentiate this activity. For our little ones who have not yet mastered 1-1 correspondence templates with the fish printed have been provided. Winter scenes without the printed fish are provided for those who have mastered this skill.
The Ice Fishing Penguin activity can be found in my online Teachers Pay Teacher store or through the Make, Take & Teach website.
Now for my kindergarten and first grade friends I created this addition activity which addresses basic addition facts to 10. Just like in the ice fishing activity, there are two types of templates which allows for differentiation. The students simply count the designated number of fish and places them in the appropriate area. Then to complete the problem, just move all the fish into the penguin’s belly. Super fun!
The Penguin Addition activity can also be found in my TpT store or through the Make, Take & Teach website.
It’s always so much fun to add a seasonal or holiday twist to small group and center activities.
