Apple Themed Rhyme Activities
Apple themed rhyme activities are a perfect complement for your fall centers!
Rhyme is one of the early phonological awareness skills that we introduce to our emerging readers and writers. The ability to hear and manipulate the individual sounds in words is a critical foundational skill. Activities that incorporate rhyme help children recognize that words contain individual sounds. Sounds can be changed to create a new word. Teaching rhyme is actually tons of fun. Books that contain rhyme (Seuss is a favorite, course), songs, poems and activities such as these rhyming apples are just a few ways to reinforce the skill of rhyme!
A few years ago my fabulous artist, Kyle, created these baskets and apples. They are so adorable and colorful that I just love pulling them out when looking for fall-themed activities.
