Build It Write It for Teaching CVC Words
The Make, Take & Teach magnetic letter activities have been popular activities for small group instruction and independent literacy centers. I just love these magnetic letters where the consonants are blue and the vowels are red. There’s no better way to learn how letter sounds combine to form words than to actually move the letters! The Making Words activity is perfect for teaching cvc words at kindergarten or first-grade literacy centers!
When you download this activity you’ll receive 14 colorful templates focusing specifically on the short vowel sounds. Contained within this file are 3 short a templates, 2 short e templates, 2 short i templates, 2 short u templates, 2 short o templates and 3 templates with mixed vowels. Students first build the words with magnetic letters and then write the words with a dry erase marker. What a fun way to learn and reinforce those tricky short vowel sounds!
The Build It Write It CVC Words can be found in my online Teachers Pay Teachers store.
