Flipping Green Eggs!
The Flipping Pancakes for sight words activity was such a hit with our students! I thought I’d shake it up a bit and create activities for learning the alphabet with flipping green eggs. It’s amazing to me how something so simple can keep the students engaged while practicing a phonics skill. This flipping eggs activity is great for either your classroom literacy centers or as an activity for small group instruction. Simply grab a spatula at the dollar store, print the eggs, laminate (optional), cut them out and you’re ready to go! Having a pan and plate available isn’t really necessary, but it just adds a little novelty. The flipping green eggs activity is available for the alphabet, consonant-vowel-consonant words and the Dolch 220 sight words.
When you download the alphabet activity you’ll receive upper- and lowercase letters typed on colorful green eggs as well as 26 eggs with corresponding beginning sound pictures. This activity can be used for purposes of letter identification, upper- to lowercase matching, or matching the beginning sound to the letter. Fun for centers or for small group instruction!
