Alphabet and CVC Word Game – Fly Swat!
I was strolling the aisles of the Dollar Tree a few years back and came across this super adorable frog fly swatter! That was just enough motivation to pull out the fly-swatting activities! Of course, any old fly swatter will do, but geez…. he’s just so cute! Read more below about the sight words, alphabet and CVC word game options.
Many of my kindergarten friends are just learning sight words and my first-grade friends always need a little more practice. The fly-swatting activity has been a favorite. There’s a little assembly involved, but it is so worth it! All you’ll need to do is print the flies, laminate, and cut. Then place a bit of velcro on each fly and then a strip of velcro on the back of the fly swatter. Students “SWAT” the flies and read the words on the flies stuck on the swatter.
Sight Words Game – Fly Swat!
This is a super simple activity, but the students LOVE it. It’s such a fun way to learn and practice sight words. As always, you can differentiate the activity by choosing which and how many flies to use.

Alphabet Game – Fly Swat!
The fly-swatting activity for letters and sounds was designed just for my preschool and kindergarten friends. You can use all the upper- and lowercase flies or just use one or the other. Be sure to have your students not only name the letter but provide the letter sound as well.
