Kindergarten Math Activities for Valentine’s Day
These kindergarten math activities for Valentine’s Day are a perfect addition to your February math centers! If you’ve been following my blog for awhile you may have noticed that I just love file folder activities. Sure, they take a little time on the front end to assemble, but once assembled, you’ll have hands on activities that will last for years and years. I’ve created quite a few file folder activities for early literacy skills, but decided to create a few holiday themed file folder activities for early math concepts. In this picture, my little friend Maverick is learning early number concepts such as counting, number order, and number formation with these activities that fit so nicely into a file folder! This Valentine’s Day themed early numeracy activity contains templates for creating file folders for the numbers one through twenty.
Several of the activities involve forming numbers and representing numbers with PlayDoh. Of course you can use any color you choose, but in honor of Valentine’s Day, I opted for red. Using homemade doh is the best. Be sure to check out our Best Playdough recipe EVER blog post for step by step directions for creating my favorite dough.
I picked up these super cute colorful heart erasers at the dollar store. They make perfect manipulatives for this Valentine’s themed activities.
The File Folder Early Numeracy Activities can be found in my online Teachers Pay Teachers store.
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
