These mitten match activities have certainly been a hit in early ed classrooms. It’s always fun to add a seasonal twist to activities and these mittens are perfect for winter themed centers. There are three sets- rhyme, beginning sounds and vocabulary. You can easily differentiate the activities by choosing which and how many mitten pairs to use. When you download the file you’ll also receive a label. I print the labels on a full size Avery label, cut and then adhere to a baggie for storage.
Just for added fun, have your students clip the mitten pairs together with clothespins. This adds a little fine motor practice too! To add a little color, put a strip of Washi tape on the clothespins.
There are 30 colorful rhyming mitten pairs in the MT&T Mitten Match Rhyme activity. This activity is ideal for preschool and kindergarten centers and can also be found in my online Teachers Pay Teachers store.
When you download the Mitten Match Beginning Sounds activity, you’ll receive 26 beginning sound mittens. This activity is available through my online TpT store or on the Make, Take & Teach website.
The Mitten Match Vocabulary activity contains 35 matching mitten pairs. This activity is ideal for vocabulary development as the students pair pictures that “go together”. You may want to use this activity during small group instruction as you can expand oral language by having your students explain why the pictures go together.
The Mitten Match Vocabulary activity can be downloaded from my TpT store or from the Make, Take & Teach website.
