Penguin File Folder Activities!

Well….the snow is just starting to fly in northern Michigan and so it is time to pull out all our winter themed activities! These penguin themed file folder activities for rhyme and the alphabet are perfect for winter themed preschool or kindergarten literacy centers! I just love file folder activities. They take a little bit on the front end to put together, but once assembled, they last a long, long time.

Activities for the Rhyme

Each penguin themed file folder activities bundle has templates for creating several differentiated file folder activities. For the rhyme match activity, there are six templates in all. Six templates contain six ice cube/matching penguins for students just learning the skill of rhyme. There are two templates with 9 rhyming matches for students who need a little extra challenge. Activities for the Alphabet

The File Folder Penguin Sound Match is a fun activity for students just learning the letters and sounds of the alphabet. With this activity, students sort the beginning sound of pictures making it a great phonemic awareness activity. When you download this activity you will receive the templates for creating 12 file folder activities! Each activity contains a winter themed landscape for two letter sounds and 10 corresponding penguins for sorting. That’s over 100 colorful beginning sound sorting penguins in this activity!
