Sight Word Games For Elementary Fall Centers
Sight Word Games make learning how to read fun! We all know how accuracy, speed, and fluency in reading increases comprehension.
However, it’s hard to keep a little one’s interest in the same flashcards over and over. So, I created these sight word games to help your kiddos learn to recognize sight words quickly and accurately. Above all, in an engaging way.
Dolch Sight Words
Did you know… Dolch basic sight words list vocabulary makes up 50-75% of all words used in school books, library books, and magazines? They are taught in preschool thru grade 3. Therefore, our kiddos need to become efficient at recognizing these words as soon as possible. The Dolch Sight Words list is made up of 220 ‘service words’, for example, pronouns, conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, and verbs.
However, many of these cannot be learned by sounding out the words or through pictures.
Download the fall-themed sight word game boards and you will receive 9 full-color game boards with 4 cute designs.
As always, activities and games are original artwork and designs from Make, Take & Teach.
Dolch 220 sight words are divided into lists and are clearly labeled on each game board to allow for easy assessment. Don’t forget to also print your FREE Dolch Sight Word Assessment here.
Simply print and laminate- you’ll have ready-made activities that can be used during centers or small group instruction.
Black and White Printable Games too!
Finally, I’ve provided the game boards in black and white so you can easily send these home with your kiddos for continued practice.
