Teaching Short Vowel Sounds with ALL NET!

Your little basketball fans are just going to love learning and practicing short vowel sounds with the Make, Take & Teach Short Vowel All Net! activity. When you download this activity you’ll receive 7 short vowel basketball courts containing common vowel confusions. This activity is easily differentiated as you choose how many and which vowels to use during your sorting activity. Also contained within this activity are 60 basketballs containing pictures with short vowel sounds and 90 basketballs containing CVC words. The self-checking feature contained on the pictured basketballs makes this activity ideal for independent centers.

Swish! CVC word game – Basketball Themed Learning

If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know I just love quick and easy activities that allow tons of practice opportunities. The Swish! game is so easy to assemble (just cut out the basketballs) and play.  To play the game, students take turns picking balls and reading the words. If a player chooses a “Swish!” ball, he/she can choose 2 more balls. If a player chooses a “Penalty” ball, all of the balls must be put back into the pile and play resumes. The player with the most balls at the end of time wins the game. When you download this activity you’ll receive 185 basketballs containing CVC words. This activity is ideal for either independent centers or as an activity for small group instruction.
