The Big Bright Ideas Blog Hop

One of my favorite parts of blogging is connecting with teachers, literally, from all around the world.  The world wide web has allowed us to share ideas and activities that impact student learning.  In that vein, I’m teaming up with 145 fabulous bloggers to bring you a pretty unique blog hop.  This hop is special in that its only focus is sharing great classroom ideas.  So that means no products… just incredible ideas!

You’ll find everything from organizational  ideas to classroom strategies.  So here’s my contribution to the BIG BRIGHT IDEAS blog hop:

My teacher friend, Deb, uses these privacy screens in her classroom.  Purchasing privacy screens commercially can be pretty expensive so she created these using shipping boxes that she purchased at Office Max.  I love these privacy screens because they are both durable and can fold quickly and easily.  This helps make transitions between activities a snap.  The trick is to get the right size box.  This size allows students to see over the top of the box so they can see the teacher as she/he provides instruction.  Here’s a pic of the type of box that works best:

It’s the 17.25 x 11.25 x 6 inch Scotch mailing box.

So, that’s it- my contribution to the blog hop.  So your next stop is to visit Tammy at 123 Teach With Me.  She has a super fun song and game for learning letters and sounds!  Just click HERE.
