Happy Valentine’s Day! Just a little late in posting these “sweet” little Valentine’s themed math activities, but they can actually be used all year long. So first up, is the Valentine Match Base 10 activity. This activity has a built in self checking feature which makes it ideal for math centers. Assembling this activity is super simple. Just print the bears and cut. You’ll have an activity that will last for years.
Students match the base ten blocks to the bears and then turns the square over. If the numbers match, the answer is correct! When you download this file you’ll receive the Valentine Bear match activity for numbers 1-50.
The Valentine Match Base Ten Blocks activity can be found in my online Teachers Pay Teachers store.
For my first grade friends just learning fact families, I created these fact family Valentine’s Day themed templates. Once laminated, the students write the fact families on the card with a dry erase marker. Simply wipe the cards clean and use again and again.
When you download this activity you will receive 39 bears with facts to 20.
The Valentine Bear Fact Families activity can also be found in my online TpT store.
Your students will just love learning addition facts to 20 with this 10 Frame addition activity. Once laminated, the 10 frame addition facts templates will last for years. Although any manipulative will work, fun Valentine themed mini erasers (can be found at a local dollar store) add a fun little twist to the activity. Students simply place the two different types of erasers (or manipulatives) in each 10 frame matching the numbers within the addition problem. They then move the erasers of the one set to complete the 10 frame and then write the addition problems using a dry erase marker. This activity supports the strategy of making 10 to solve addition problems.
The Valentine Themed 10 Frame Addition activity can also be found in my TpT store.
Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
