It’s always fun to incorporate a little seasonal spirit into center activities. Many of my first grade friends are now learning place value using base 10 blocks and I thought it’d be a great time to introduce a hands-on winter themed activity. The self-checking feature of this activity makes it perfect for independent centers. When you download the file you’ll receive the template and 50 snowballs with numbers 1-50. The student simply chooses a snowball and builds the number. When done, he/she just turns the snowball over and checks to see if the number of rods and units match.
The Representing Numbers Using Base 10 Blocks can be found in my online Teachers Pay Teachers store or on the Make, Take & Teach website.
Another fun winter themed activity perfect for your math centers is the Base 10 Penguin Match. This activity also has a self-checking feature! Students match the rods/units to the numbered penguin. When a match has been made, the card is turned over and if the numbers match, the response is correct.
The Penguin Match Base Ten Blocks can also be found in my TpT store or in the Make, Take & Teach website.
Enjoy the winter season!

I’m not certain, but I think the links to your TPT store are not working?
